About
-
The school was originally founded in the late 1950′s by Mrs Betty Plant and was formerly known as the Betty Plant School of Dancing. In 1988 the school became known as the Joanne Hampson School of Dance. Then in 2005 a opportunity has arisen to allow Lorraine & Ian Byrnes to buy the school or their daughter, Taylor Byrnes as she had been pupil at the school from the age of 5 years. The DanceWorks Eccles was born.
Miss Genene Bowers began her dance training with Mrs Plant at the age of 4 and soon discovered her love and talent for both dancing and teaching. By 2007 it was clear the school was developing and needed the extra dimension offered by Miss Genene, who then became a partner and principle teacher.
The standard and reputation of the school grew attracting pupils from an ever increasing area. The introduction of Musical Theatre, Cheerleading and Singing lessons have also been added to our very full time table. The school welcomes both children who want to pursue a career in dance and those who just want to have fun.
Our recent 100% examination pass rate with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) is a credit to Miss Genene and her teaching staff.
